Amis d’ici is a volunteer based initiative to support young newcomers in primary school welcome classes by matching them with a student-mentor with similar experiences. This helps to receive personalized feedback outside of school and keep motivation high while trying to learn the French language. Having a mentor friend also solves the isolation and alienation feelings that many younger immigrants unfortunately face.

 

      We envision a smoother integration process, and prone the protection of the French heritage of Québec without imposing it harshly onto children.
