The Amis d’ici initiative is a program I, Arman Onur, have decided to found mostly according to my own experiences in the welcome class of École primaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys. I have known firsthand what it’s like to learn a brand new language without having the necessary ressources for it. I have been through the constant struggle of teacher changes and grade mergers.

      Today, having successfully become fluent in French like a native speaker, I wanted to share my experiences to make life a little easier for my little brothers and sisters arriving here from all across the globe. Canada, and especially Montreal, is a very welcoming place.

      In partnership with the Youth Ambassadors and World Learning organizations, we aim to offer equal opportunities to any child that makes their way here, and make their integration process as seamless as possible.
